Little Green Cars,
Iveagh Gardens, Dublin,
Saturday July 23.
Little Green Cars announced very special guest Damien Dempsey for their biggest gig of the summer which will take place in the stunning surrounds of Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on Saturday July 23rd. The show will be opened by exciting 19-year old singer-songwriter Sam Messayeh.
Damien Dempsey is already a legend of Irish music. He is a proud Dubliner with a huge voice. He sings about contemporary life, warts and all, freedom and injustice, identity and community. For the last 15 years he has been a massively positive force on the Irish music scene and already he has populated the canon of great Irish songs with gems such as It’s All Good, Negative Vibes, Apple Of My Eye, Colony… the list goes on. Dempsey has been a big influence on all five members of Little Green Cars and they are honoured to have him perform as special guest on this show to celebrate coming home from a sold out American tour and the release of their brilliant second album Ephemera.
“Damien Dempsey’s music means a great deal to us,” explains Adam O’Regan of Little Green Cars. “I was first introduced to it by my Dad, who has since passed away. I remember sitting in his car when he first played me ‘Negative Vibes’ from Seize The Day - it had a massive impact on me. Damien’s music is real. His honesty has hugely inspired our collective songwriting and will continue to do so, we couldn’t be happier to have him open for us in Iveagh Gardens.”
